iRest and Australian Academy of Sciences Collaborate on Future Health Innovations
On October 13th, 2024, Professor Jennie Brand-Miller, an academician of Australian Academy of Sciences and the University of Sydney, and his team visited iRest’s Binhai factory, and discussed the cooperation between the industry, academia and research between the guests and the hosts.
Dr. Bao Jiansong from the University of Sydney and Chen Jian, Director of the Development Department of the Institute of Health Research of Wenzhou Medical University accompanied the visitors. iRest President Zhou Lingwei and Vice President Huang Yihe warmly received them.
Fellow of the Australian Academy of Sciences, the first expert in the field of clinical nutrition to receive the honor of academician, founder of the International Glycemic Index (GI) Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief Nutritionist of the Charles Perkins Center, is the creator of the world’s largest GI database, the world’s largest lifestyle intervention in type 2 diabetes research project – PREVIEW STUDY Australia, Principal Investigator (PI) low GI Diet and an international authority on diabetes nutrition. She has authored some 350 publications with a total of over 20,000 citations and an H-index of 71. She was awarded the Order of Australia (the highest award for excellence in science and technology) in 2011, Sir Kempson Maddox Diabetes Australia in 2009, and the Australian Personality of the Year Award in 2006. Her popular science book was the first best-selling diet book, selling 3.5 million copies, and she is known as “GI Jennie”.
